Mission Impossible: Keep Up to Date

Are you just someone trying to get along? Are you committed to making a living for yourself? For your family? Are you trying to vote intelligently? Do you volunteer to help better your community and wonder if it really makes a difference? Are you concerned about the condition of civilization? Are you satisfied with the way things are? Do you wish to be an agent for change?

There are so many voices shouting their way is right. There is so much that is simply not true. Where will you find time to understand what is really happening in the world? How do you know we have it right? In truth you cannot know! Not until you stick with us for awhile and see if it works for you. More over we are not going to tell you what is the right way or the wrong way. That is something we expect you to do. We will provide you with the same information and its source that we use for our civilization simulation and forecast program.

Who Creates These Briefing Documents

These documents are prepared by Star Bright Researchers in association with the People’s Think Tank. We focus on no specific social problem or opportunity. Our focus is on the big picture of where civilization is headed and how we might influence the outcome. In order to accomplish our mission we track and document the world’s problems, opportunities, and key dynamics driving changes. These briefing documents then become requirements specification documents for the Star Bright Civilization Simulation. The results of the Sims are then feed back to these documents. In these documents we strive to simply report what we observe. We share these documents with the expectation that you will provide valuable feedback. And, perhaps, join us in our search for a path to a better world.

(Please note we do not offer any of this as financial advice, career advice, or counciling. There are professionals who devote their lives to offering such advice.)

Why Follow Star Bright

The road ahead holds some surprises, good and bad. We can help you clear some of the obscuring fog. We offer briefs on

  • Challenge and Opportunity Insights
  • Exploring Society Trends
  • Living Life: What Truly Matters

Each brief contains a one page summary to quickly answer five questions:

  1. How much will this affect the quality of life for myself and those close to me?
  2. Can I ignore it? I will ignore it because it has minimal impact on me or I can do nothing about it.
  3. If I need to pay attention, how can I maximize the positive and minimize the negative impact?
  4. Do I want to get involved in community efforts to effect change?
  5. Do I need more information?

Should you decide this is something you need to know more about the briefs point to an in depth analysis and an extensive annotated reference list.

The world is becoming ever more complex and changing fast. Some things will change and some things will not. Do you know which is which? Do you know the timetable for changes?

Finally, these briefs will prepare you to sound highly knowledgeable about the world at your next meeting, formal dinner party, or back yard Bar-B-Que.
