Announcing a Majestic Collaboration: “Pictures in Paradise” Unites The Paradise Symphony Orchestra, Paradise Arts Association, Paradise Art Center, and Northern California Ballet
The Paradise Symphony Orchestra, in conjunction with the Paradise Arts Association, the Paradise Art Center, and the Northern California Ballet, proudly unveils a groundbreaking collaboration destined to captivate audiences: “Pictures in Paradise,” a mesmerizing production set to the enchanting melodies of Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of Animals.”
In this unprecedented endeavor, artists from the Paradise community will craft evocative paintings for each of the 14 movements of the “Carnival of Animals.” These masterpieces will be prominently displayed in the lobby, offering a visual feast to attendees. Large monitors in the theater will showcase the paintings before each movement, providing a unique prelude to the auditory experience.
As the music takes center stage, a transformative moment will occur. The paintings will gracefully yield the spotlight to Northern California Ballet dancers, who will interpret Saint-Saëns’ compositions through an exquisite dance performance. The artists, aiming to capture the spirit of the music on canvas, will be paralleled by dancers who, in a daring fusion of art forms, become both canvas and paint, embodying the essence of the symphony.
This collaborative venture marks a pioneering milestone for the arts community, with parallels drawn to the renowned New York City Ballet’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” in 2014, making “Pictures in Paradise” a trailblazing experience.
